Universal Studios Singapore opened in 2010 as the anchor of Resorts World Sentosa and remains Southeast Asia's only Universal park — compact by Orlando standards at 20 hectares, which locals treat as a feature: with a weekday start at opening time, every headline ride fits in one day. Seven themed zones ring a central lagoon, from a New York backlot to Ancient Egypt's Revenge of the Mummy indoor coaster and the Waterworld stunt show's afternoon performances.
The signature hardware is Battlestar Galactica: Human vs Cylon, a pair of dueling coasters — one seated, one suspended — that interweave above Sci-Fi City. Transformers: The Ride's 3D motion platforms next door draw the longest queues after opening; the standard play is to walk straight there, then Mummy, then Battlestar, clearing the big three before 11am. A one-day ticket runs about S$83, with Universal Express queue-skipping sold separately from about S$50 — worth it on weekends and school holidays, skippable on an ordinary Tuesday.
Getting there is part of the outing: the Sentosa Express monorail from VivoCity (HarbourFront MRT) reaches Resorts World station in four minutes, or the Sentosa Boardwalk crossing takes fifteen on foot. The park usually runs 10am to 7pm; afternoon thunderstorms pause the outdoor coasters, so wet-season visits should front-load them.
