Wholesome and homemade Peranakan comfort food. High quality and excellent presentation. Coffee is also barista style, akin to many cafes. The craft drinks were also so creative and incorporate local ingredients. Exceptional hospitality provided by our waiter Calvin who was cheery and welcomed everybody despite the busy rush of the lunch crowd. Ambience was cozy yet well-lit. 10/10 highly recommend to locals and tourists alike ;)
First time trying this place, and I was impressed! The fish was incredibly fresh and delicious. You can really tell they use fresh chicken too—it was juicy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. The chicken wings were also excellent, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Overall, a very satisfying meal, and I’ll definitely be back.
Godmama Parkway Parade (level 1, near Bata) offers a refreshing modern twist on Peranakan cuisine. We had a large group, so we managed to sample quite a few dishes. The Godmama Crayfish Nyonya Yellow Mee was a standout, served with Sambal Nanas Timum. It reminded me of my mum’s Birthday noodles. The appetisers, including Ngoh Hiang and Nyonya fried chicken wings with special belachan mayo, were also delicious. The Lambshank Rendang was incredibly aromatic and tender, falling off the bone. The Sambal Udang Petai and Sayur Lodeh were flavourful. My favourites were the Babi Assam (tamarind stew pork belly), Ikan Nanas (pineapple fish stew), and the must-try Godmama Nasi Ulam (Nyonya 8 Herb Rice). Do pair your food with the special cocktails with a Peranakan twist! For dessert, we indulged in the Sticky Red Date pudding with ice cream and my favourite, the Pulut Hitam Panna Cotta style, which was simply divine! Service was great too. Best to make a reservation! If you are in town try Godmama at Funan Mall too
