Ultimate Food Journey is not just an eating tour. There’s plenty of eating involved, but it's also a cultural deep-dive into the beloved wet markets and hawker stalls that explores the origins and heritage of iconic Singapore staples like local coffee, belachan, roti prata, and lots more. The tour starts in the best way possible; by eating, of course! You’re brought to a hawker centre to sample the best of the best local dishes. At a local wet market, you will be introduced to local ingredients and how they're used in signature Singapore dishes. Next, enjoy an intimate visit to two family-run factories to get a behind-the-scenes look at the local food industry. Then, before you know it, it’s a hands-on popiah-rolling lunch session. The tour ends on a sweet note, with the famos putu piring at arguably Singaporean’s favourite putu piring stall. See how it’s made up close and eat as many as you want.

Really really flavourful food! Everything was just flavour bombs. The service is also very good, food came fast and they are very attentive and helpful. Not a big fan of rotti so the egg hopper was a miss for me. But other than that, all is extra good!

Situated in the ground floor of an apartment complex, the restaurant was unassuming. We managed to get an indoor table, as it was very hot and humid. We visited for the first time, having just returned from several weeks in Sri Lanka. The food at Kotuwa was every bit as good as the food in their home country! The service was attentive, without being intrusive. The menu offered good vegetarian options. The dall had great flavour and texture, the cauliflower curry was bursting with flavours, and not overpowered with coconut milk, it also retained the texture, where many other restaurants overcook it. The butternut squash dish was a complete contrast, with rich flavours developing in your mouth, with a warmth continuing to be present without being over spiced. The sambal flight was a great choice - one coconut, chilli and lime, the next aubergine based and the third tamarind with caramelised onion. They allowed the flavours to supplement the other dishes. A small portion of plain rice was sufficient for two people. The food was so good we booked a table and returned three days later and tried the Cashew yellow rice, and Okra - well worth trying. The mango beer was worth a try and very fruity, on our second visit the local lager was a good bet. We liked the scorched art on the tables too. If we are back in Singapore we will visit again!

Never tried Sri Lankan food before. Definitely a unique food experience. A bit on the spicy side, but manageable for those who can take mild spice. Some dishes resemblance of Indian dishes, but most have their unique difference. Worth a try in a group so you can order more to share. Ambiance is Mello for nice dinner, but you can see the hustle and bustle of kitchen and staff running around. Unfortunately, the wine and drinks are on the pricy side. For average to below average wine will be $130. Decent to above will be $300+. 1:1 corkage.
