Ultimate Food Journey is not just an eating tour. There’s plenty of eating involved, but it's also a cultural deep-dive into the beloved wet markets and hawker stalls that explores the origins and heritage of iconic Singapore staples like local coffee, belachan, roti prata, and lots more. The tour starts in the best way possible; by eating, of course! You’re brought to a hawker centre to sample the best of the best local dishes. At a local wet market, you will be introduced to local ingredients and how they're used in signature Singapore dishes. Next, enjoy an intimate visit to two family-run factories to get a behind-the-scenes look at the local food industry. Then, before you know it, it’s a hands-on popiah-rolling lunch session. The tour ends on a sweet note, with the famos putu piring at arguably Singaporean’s favourite putu piring stall. See how it’s made up close and eat as many as you want.

YY Kafei Dian feels like stepping into old Singapore with just enough modern touches to keep things comfortable. The kaya toast here uses proper old-school buns — thick, fluffy, slightly crisp outside, and perfect with the rich kaya and butter combination. Soft eggs, traditional kopi and tea, and even the cakes bring back that nostalgic coffee shop experience that’s getting harder to find. What I really liked was how they preserved the old-school ambiance while quietly modernising the operations. The place still feels very 80s/90s Singapore kopitiam, but with digital payments, order buzzers, and smoother service flow. It’s nostalgic without feeling outdated. Simple food done properly. No overcomplication, no gimmicks — just solid traditional breakfast culture preserved well.

Wanted to get my daily kaya toast fix somewhere new, so I stopped by YY Kafei Dian. Arrived around 8:15 on a Saturday morning—place was packed with a short line, which is always a good sign. The café is very clean, and service is impressively fast and efficient. They did get my coffee order wrong and didn’t replace it, which was a bit disappointing. What stood out was their toast—they use a soft, almost brioche-style bun, which was super fluffy and really tasty, a nice change from the usual. Overall, a solid spot to start your day, especially if you’re around the Raffles Hotel area.

Overly rated & hyped up. A tourist trap!!! Ordered a pork chop with rice & iced lemon tea. The meat was not too bad but hardly any sauce so rice was very dry. 🙄 The cup of iced lemon tea was the smallest cup ever! 😝😝 I went to get some chilli but didn't see the signage stating if need any cutleries or condiments to ask the serving staff. An old man in the cafe uniform who was seated at the back table raised his voice saying, Hello... I quickly apologised for my mistake but he continued raising his voice... I had to stopped him & told him, I already apologised & he doesn't have to create a scene. I gave the service 3 🌟 cos the same person who took my order & payment was very polite. Do note this cafe only accept cash. The rest of the service staff seems like they were under pressure to quickly clear the table even though the cafe was barely full. Honestly, not worth eating there as there are better eateries elsewhere. Even the cafe down the building is much better.
